Volunteer Opportunities


MADD, Los Angeles County always needs good volunteers. If you are interested in working with the public, speaking at high schools or community groups, working with youth, assisting with office projects and more, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator at: (310) 215-2905 or fill out the form. We need volunteers in the following areas:


Victim Services Program
- Victim Advocate: This position requires a volunteer who is caring and supportive in nature to provide emotional support to victims of drunk driving collisions who contact the MADD office. Victim Advocates attend court sessions with victims, acting as a liaison with families, prosecutors, and law enforcement. This is the heart and soul or “center” of our mission statement and the embodiment of the MADD organization. Weekday availability is necessary during court sessions. We provide training – a minimum 1-year commitment is required due to the extensive training.

Speakers Bureau: Are you interested in public speaking? MADD, Los Angeles needs volunteers to help increase public education through awareness to the dangers of drinking and driving and about MADD’s free of charge programs and service. You will have the opportunity to represent MADD in schools, at special community events and functions and to civic groups. Day and evening speaking engagements are available, day-time flexibility is required and our speakers do not have to be a victim of a drunk driving crash to be considered for this position. Bilingual speakers are greatly needed! Training requires a 2-part session. Hispanic Outreach:

Hispanic Outreach: Bilingual volunteers are needed to translating materials from English to Spanish and for public speaking.

Health and Safety Fairs: MADD needs volunteers who are available on weekdays and/or weekends to distribute a variety of informational literature, answer the public’s questions about MADD’s programs and services at high schools, community events, fairs, and conventions. A key opportunity to increase public awareness.

Legislation: Volunteers who have e-mail access and are interested in following legislation through committees to adoption are needed to write letters to local legislators on impaired driving issues.

Office Assistance: MADD, Los Angeles is always in need of volunteers who can work into our office located in the LAX area on a continual or occasional basis, answering phones, typing, collating, putting together packets of information, photocopying, etc. We also have occasional “weekend work parties” for newsletter distribution, special program events, and fundraising projects. Join us!

Fundraising: We need enthusiastic volunteers who are interested in helping us raise much-needed funds for MADD, Los Angeles’ free programs and services. Fundraisers assist us in obtaining prizes and donated goods/services for special events and programs. If you have a special skill or gift for fundraising, or grant writing or experience with soliciting underwriting from local businesses and individuals. We need you!
